Once someone is arrested for DWI or DUI they will usually have their hard copy license taken and given a temporary paper license. This paper license has instructions on the bottom portion detailing the 15 day time limit to request a hearing. This hearing is to contest the suspension of the drivers license. If a person misses the 15 day period to request the license hearing their drivers license WILL be suspended 40 days from the day of arrest.
